Mr. Ashok Sawhny is the Founder and President of Global Monarch and its sister company Monarch International. A true pioneer of the industry, Mr. Sawhny first started the trading company Monarch International in 1978. During the 1980s, Mr. Sawhny and Monarch International were given the agency of Australian mining major BHP in the Indian market as exclusive representatives in the country. In the 1980s and 1990s, Mr. Sawhny represented Brazilian refractories major Magnesita Refratarios in India, an association that continues till this day with the refractories major RHI Magnesita. In a career spanning more than five decades, Mr. Sawhny has revolutionised international trading by successfully developing just about every heavy-manufacturing industry – from refractories and steel to textiles, chemicals and even aviation.
A stalwart of the refractories industry, Mr. Sawhny has been a speaker at major International Refractory Conferences such as the ALAFAR on several occasions and is also closely associated with the apex body for commerce and trade in India, FICCI, having represented the organisation at various international forums.
Ms. Jyoti Gupta is Joint-Director of Global Monarch and President of the Minerals & Alloys division of the company. A prominent figure in the world of international metals, alloys & ores trading, Ms. Gupta has helped the company expand its presence to global markets and establish a strong footing in major industrial sectors such as mining, power, steel, cement & aviation, both in the private and government domains
Ms. Meera Sawhny is the President of the Refractory Raw Materials & Finished Products divisions of the company. Under her leadership, Global Monarch has evolved into a global leader in the refractories industry, at par with the industry’s most well-reputed and respected suppliers of refractory raw materials, bricks and castables in the world.
Mr Hemant Kumar Chaturvedi is the Chief executive officer at Global Monarch- Refractory Products division for India and Middle east customers. He has 30 years of long experience in Refractory Production and leading Sales & services across India. He has expertise in executing Total Refractory Management businesses in Steel Ladle,Hot Metal Ladle,Tarpedo Ladle and Tundish across different steel Plants in India. Gaining knowledge on Refractory is his passion and relatioinship built up in the industry is his asset. From his long experience, he shares just concentrate on meeting customer expectation in terms of quality, pricing & immediate response, business growth is natural.
Mr. Subir Dasgupta is the Chief Executive Officer of the Refractory Products division at Global Monarch. With over 30 years of experience working with steel plants across India, Europe and South America, Mr. Dasgupta is an expert on the various processes of primary and secondary steel production, refractories installation & management and raw material procurement.

Mr. Rakesh Mishra is Senior General Manager in the Minerals & Alloys division of Global Monarch. Having joined the company in 1996, Mr. Mishra has worked across a variety of raw materials and consumables used by the steel industry such as Ferroalloys & Mineral Ores from South Africa/Zimbabwe/Pakistan, Graphite Electrodes from China and Steel Billets from India to major plants across the world.
Having joined Global Monarch in 2020, Mr. Luiz Marcio Guimaraes is the Foreign Trade Director for the markets of North & South America. Mr. Guimaraes has accumulated over 35 years of experience in the sales & marketing of Refractories, Minerals & Chemicals products. Previously, Mr. Guimaraes was Global Head for International Sales & Logistics Management at RHI Magnesita. Mr. Guimaraes has also been Foreign Trade advisor to several small and medium businesses and conducted lectures at top-ranked universities in Brazil on topics related to international trade and marketing.
A graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers London, Frank has over 40 years of experience in the field of refractory raw materials. Prior to joining Global Monarch, he spent close to 3 decades as Key Accounts Sales Manager for Premier Periclase and RHI Magnesita, supplying High Grade Seawater Dead Burned Magnesia and other MgO based products to the refractory industry in Europe and North America.
